I use web 2.0 blog platforms & .edu & .gov blogging platforms to create my own blog posts and drop in some backlinks. I'm wondering how many backlinks are "safe" to add to the post? Should I be making it look like "natural" linking...like "natural" to Google? My idea of what Google thinks is "natural" would be like a webmaster giving me one link to my site. Isn't this what Google wants to see? Aren't "natural" backlinks supposed to be a "vote" of confidence for my site from another site? Google finds these "votes" and moves my site up in the SERPs, right? My backlinking method isn't "natural" and I realize that. My method is more like a "forced" or "unnatural" method. I've put up to 12 backlinks into a blog post but lately, have been dropping that down to 2 backlinks. If Google finds 12 backlinks in a blog post, could that hurt the site I'm linking to? I read that Google only "counts" one link from a specific URL to another specific URL. Is that true? What are your backlinking tactics when using Web 2.0, .edu & .gov blogging platforms?
