    Hey guys!

I have setup a new website with a new domain 10 days ago. I used senuke to promote it. here's what I did daily:

    - created accounts on approx. 20 social network sites. submitted an article with my main page URL in it to all those network sites.

    - submitted my main page and those 20 network sites to approx. 15 social bookmarking sites.

    - submitted all the rss feeds which I got from those submissions to approx. 14 rss sites

    - pinged every URL which I got from all those submissions.

remember I did this DAILY for 7 -8 days..

Now my problem: my website got ranked pretty fast on the first page of google on a pretty competitive keyword. Two days ago I noticed that my site is gone.. I mean.. it's still indexed in google but I can't find it anymore when I type the keyword in... So I think this is the famous sandbox effect.

So how much do you guys do for your websites? Did I "overpromote" my website? what would be right that my site doesn't get sandboxed?

Hmm, 10 days...that's fast. It took 3 months and 3000 links to get me dumped in the box. Just keep building links at around 5-10 per day.

Maybe it just dropped and comes back up soon, Most new sites get the top for a while then drop back, and then slowly get back up again.

Don't expect SEO miracles from a 10 day old domain, what ruler0fall is saying is correct. How good is your content?

I was wondering what xrummer guys have to say about this because it seems to be notorious for getting people slapped down by the big G. 50 per day on a new domain seems like a lot of publicity to be getting on a new site. If the big G wants it to appear like organic traffic, that certainly doesnt sound organic to me.

One or two links. you don't need many. If you build too fast your site will get sandboxed, whre it will remain for a long time.

    Do this....

Check to see if your site is still listed in Google's index. Simply type site:http://www.yourdomain.com and that will show you how many and what pages Google still has indexed. If you see your site still, you might be "sandboxed" or Google is dancing and your site will pop back up in a bit. In the meantime still slowly bulid links (you can do 10-20 new profile links via SENuke). If you DON'T see your site pages listed, then you need to go through G's reinclusion process to get your site relisted in their index.

So you say you stopped this process after 7-8 days, and did no link building later, if this is the case then definitely your ranks were going to drop as you daily build links and then suddenly stop doing this process.

Keep this process ongoing to maintain ranking, this is what i would suggest.

Pls do clarify on this did you stopped this process after 7-8 days

Rushi I stopped link building AFTER my site was dropped. As long as my site ranked well in google I did these steps every day.

I often wonder if that's the test Google are performing. If they "sandbox" a site, the webmaster gets demoralised and ceases his linkbuilding campaign, thinking "my site may never return, I don't want to waste my time".

However, if the site is genuinely popular, the links will continue to pop up. This is why, whenever a new site of mine goes into the box (and they almost always do), I continue to build steady links.

The tactic you used is fine for hit and run marketing, like the Oprah Winfrey method. Sites promoted this way do not last. Period. I recommend 3 links a day, no more, for starters do my users. You can increase this by one link/day per month. This is link velocity for your home page. You could have additional links to inner pages and off-site resources like ezine articles and squidoo lenses. if you had told me ahead of time what you were up to I would have predicted you'd last about 2 weeks. I know. I've done it!

IMHO I think there is no golden number.

For a hot trend few thousads links from sources like blogs and social sites can work but will kill your site if google doesn't think you are a hot trend.

It's also depends in your niche, hence, competition
Look at the first 10-20 sites for your kw you are targeting and check out how many links they have and how old is there site. you'll see an average, that's what you need to aim for more or less.

Also as much as people think, not all the links you will build will be counted for so you can't have a 100% control over your link building

diversify your link building efforts, continue your process but also do article submissions, directory submissions, relevant link exchanges, blog commenting, forum posting, use Angela's backlink method to get high PR links, this will help your site to get rankings back

Do On-page optimization for homepage(if not done) & inner pages, get inbound links for inner pages also
