How many Articles do you Put on a site Before Letting it Sit & Marinate?

I find the most effective method has been to crank out x amount of articles for a brand new website, and then just leave it sit there for 6-8months before ever touching it again so it can ''marinate'' and gain traction/rankings/traffic from google.
After that ,go back , evaluate the progress and develop more articles based on the data/success you now have.

I'm fairly sure many of you do the same..
However how many articles do you typically develop in this first round before letting it sit and ''marinate''?

I put on average 100-200 Articles then I let it grow organically.
I usually start posting more article if the site can reach avg 100 visitors/ day.
Most of my site start reaching 100 visitor/day in about 2-4 month.
 
I usually shove 10-30 articles on new sites and let it marinate. Then come back to it once I start seeing traffic.

Although on some sites I keep publishing one article here and there throughout the aging process.
 
30 articles, but i might need to triple that given the success rate i'm haveing is starting to decrease
 
If you're not going to build any backlinks to boost popularity in search results of your website, I would say just keep posting new articles all the time, each article on the long run may receive a couple of visits and you may achieve 100 visitors per day in the long run, with many articles in place. if instead you'll build backlinks, publish a few and monitor how the backlinking is working for you.
 
I usually publish 30/40 and then I leave it for a couple of months, when this time passes I evaluate whether to build backlinks or continue to publish articles.
 
I don't publish a set amount of articles, I go for 100k words, and leave it a year.

You guys are blasting it. I bow down with my noobness at 20-30 posts, then leave for at least 6 months.
 
It would be helpful to know what results you achieve, after you say how many articles and for how long you leave them, for example the pageviews

mix. normal niche site. some of them were review product post, some of them informational post (that reference other blog post. can be another info post, or product review post)
 
I was always curious why most of you leave the site alone after X number of articles published.
Even if you craft 40 articles, why not schedule them to be posted every few days, instead of publishing them all at once and let it sit.

I mean, wouldn't that be more effective at telling Google "Hey, my site is active. I'm posting shit weekly".
Instead, they just see "hey, this guy did 40 articles and then decided to retire, the hell with it"

I might be talking out of my ass, but that's how I see it and have always wondered how search engines decide about these factors.

I'm in no way talking about posting daily. But if you have 40 articles and want the website to age 6 months, that's 40 articles for 24 weeks. Basically, you can schedule 1 article every 4-5 days. In my own opinion, I would see this as a better strategy.

Also, I find 6 months to be way too much. Most websites gain traction after 2 months, 3 tops. Talking especially about the ones with decent quality content, length, etc.

idk, based on my experience, a single post is successful or not, measured after aprox. 10 month.

post then leave, or post every specific time, is only preference.
 
post and let it marinate basically, wait them until rank
if not rank then something is wrong with your site.

So the report showing 83K clicks is a result of 100-200 Articles that you let sit for about 2-4 month?
And all that traffic came organically from the articles alone? or you built backlinks as well?
And if you built backlinks, did you link to the homepage or to the articles?

yes traffic came organically.
Didnt built any backlink yet. I 100% Follow Google Guidelines
