How many articles are enough for an authority site?

Well i want to create some authority sites right now.
I have the content ready and i want to know how many is enough to create a micro or medium authority site.
Example if the niche is car, i will be talking for a type or a mark of cars. So it means it is not a very huge niche but it is a medium or small niche.

So i would like to know how many articles would be enough?

Its not about the quantity man, its about the quality :)

but an authority site should have atleast 500+ articles IMO

I forgot to say that the articles are high quality articles.

depends on how tough your niche .I work on casino niche and have 1k articles on each sites to get stable traffic :)
 
It depends on how tight your niche is. If "cars" is your niche you could easily have several thousand articles and still not have enough. If your niche is a certain brand or even a certain model from a certain year you will need less articles. Cover the topic adequately and you'll have enough.
 
When you say 1k articles, what's the lowest quality article site yo're talking about, because its not difficult to blast many thousands of articles with AMR, but barely any get indexed.

Well the niche is not very tight. And i thing that 100-200 Articles will be more than enough for an authority site in that niche as the other websites who are rankings and claim to be Authority sites have less than 30 Articles.
 
There's no definitive answer since it depends on what competition you have for keywords. IMO, it's best to start building the sites one by one with the content that you have, build links, and check your rankings each week, and get an idea for how much more link-building you need. LBrown made a great point in regard to content:

200 articles is enough in the begining but you have to add 1 article in a day this is good.

According to an e-book I recently read an authority site should have around 1000+ articles, but I believe that you cannot put a number to authority.

I am not that experienced in IM but I have learned from the big guys that you need to keep adding content every week if you want to secure your position in the SERPS
 
Rule of thumb is to always do more than your competitors. Look for authority sites in your niche (not just your specific keyword - your niche) and see how many the bigger sites have. That will give you an indication.

Exactly correct in my experience. I simply write until I cannot cover any more topics. I also branch out a bit and cover some stuff that isn't in my niche, but related. When your posts or articles are getting indexed instantly, you are heading in the right direction.
 
After certain post perhaps 200,500 or 1000+ how can you discovered,your site is authority website ?
 
Out of curiosity how do you guys get that man articles? Manually writing, article writer, article scraper/spinning?
 
Having links from new York times or BBC would make you an authority site!

My question too. I would consider an authority site as a site whose new articles get instantly indexed and ranked very high in Google as soon as they are posted. When I post an original article on my site, it instantly gets ranked in the Top 20 on Google for keywords ranging form 400 to 1000 Exact searches per month. I only have like 10 to 15 articles total. Sometimes I rank top 10 for the first few days, but I am indexed within a few seconds.

How are we measuring Authority?
 
isnt PR a measure of authority?
i mean .. all authority sites have 4+ PR ..
 
The true definition of an authority site is that the sites in the same niche as you link to your website more than any other site.
