How many accounts should you follow before getting locked?

Twitter has been going aggressive with the account locking. I can't even follow more than 300 now before I get the temporary lock.

Any suggestions on how many to follow now?

It's random and there is absolutely no way to prevent the temporary locks from happening.

The best thing to do is monitor your following/unfollowing so when you do get locked, you can unlock immediately so people don't stat unfollowing you.

I think you are following too fast. I used to get this a lot a few months ago but it all stop when I slowed down. Reduce you rate of following.
