How Long Until A Video Starts Showing Ads?

ok i already have an adsense account that i make money with through a website, but now I have a video that I believe has potential. I just set up a uploaded it to my youtube channel (that I didn't even remember I have.) Then I clicked the monetization option, but when I watch the video it shows no ads?

Does it take time before youtube shows ads after making account? Do i have to be approved first or something?

You should set up ad sense for youtube videos independently of ad sense for websites, lol.

is it two different thigns basically or because it will get me banned?

only reason i did it like this is beacuse it's a new video that i think has the potential to go viral, i just wnat to get it out there asap

what about when you first set up your youtube account though? also is it true what the poster below you said about needing a diffent adsense account for youtube versus websites

what for? is it so when/if I get banned that I don't lose two accounts. Aren't you only alllowed to have one account?
