How Long Until A Deleted Website Stops Appearing In Google Searches?

Hello: After a long legal battle (trademark) the infringers FINALLY took down their website a few days ago - sort of.
The original home page was replaced with some WP placeholder about "Horses." (attached)

They still own the URL (RockAndRollKitchen.com) which I suppose is alright IF there's no content and/or hidden files which are still being "seen" by Google searches (screenshot attached).

AND SO THE QUESTIONS:
1. How long does it take for Google to update/remove deleted content?
2. Is there a way I can see whatever may still be online with that site which is appearing in Google searches?

few days I think, but that's assuming that they did recrawl the page with the deleted content... or that you used other methods of announcing to google the deletion of the content

1) you can use rank trackers like SerpRobot to check which URLs (if any) are still ranking, and for which keywords.

2) you can use tools like Scrapebox to check whether any links are still indexed in google, or whether any content is still cached (although there are probably other tools besides SB that can do this, but I don't know them)

But I think you should check the google index / cache AFTER you have taken steps towards the removal, otherwise there's no point in doing it

3a) you can use google search operators like site: to see which links are still indexed in google, but this doesn't always return accurate results. But it's still one of the options...

For example, you could type this into google and see how many (and which) URLs come up:

For me, this returns 157 results, this means that 157 (give or take) URLs from this site are still indexed in google

3b) you can also use operators like link: to find any pages that link to this website, but this operator has been long retired, so it might not be able to return everything that still exists about this site, but again, it's just one of the many options you have...

There are more operators you could probably use, but I don't remember all of them. But Ahrefs have a pretty good list of these, so check it out:

THANK YOU SO MUCH! FYI I do NOT own this website; it was supposedly taken down as part of a trademark infringement issue, so I have no control about using the Google console for link removal. I was hoping to use some tool to see if any of the content is still hosted (and being indexed) on their hosting server. THANKS AGAIN!

oh, I don't think this is possible... unless their hosting can somehow check what's hosted on their server and actually care enough to remove everything. But if the guy/gal hosts this on offshore servers there's not much you can do about it...

I've been doing Google searches on "rock & roll kitchen" and "rock and roll kitchen," and I can report that Google has been removing results from a site which was taken offline in just a few days (not 6 months, as I've seen with some online queries).

It's not 100% cleaned up yet, but it's a good start, we'll see what happens in the next few weeks? Thanks again everyone

Glad to know that you were successfully able to take it down and I agree it's a tough job.
I suggest you index the current webpage by using third-party indexing tools and let Google know that there isn't any content on the website.
For keeping a daily track I suggest you use a third-party tool that visually tracks and sends you updates upon changes. example visualping.io.

I did not take it down - the (infringing) trademark owners finally did after the last contact from my attorneys. My question was about 1. Wondering how long Google would take to update/remove results and 2. If there was a way I could see if any content from that site was still somewhere on their hosting.

FYI it only took Google a few days to update/remove most of the results, still a few more to go

it depends on how that site was updated. if frequently, then google bot will recrawl it quickly and deindex pages in couple of weeks but lesser than a month. if it was not updated frequently, then google will recrawl it slowly. No one can ask google to recrawl it fast/slow other than site owner within their GSC account. so you'll have to wait to full see the site is wiped out.

site:example.com - use this to find all pages indexed by google. Though this is not perfect as it used to be. Now-a-days, I've 300 pages indexed, and google shows 60-70!! Though if i put whole URL in search field, I can all 300 pages indexed. So if you have a sitemap you can maunally copy-paste each URL to check if its indexed or not.

site: operator is the best if you want to see which pages of that domain are still indexed in google.
regarding the time for deindexing the pages, there is no fixed duration and as google will remove the pages that it recrawl and see then removed.
And if you are willing to request to remove some URLs from Google, the following reference will help you -

Here you can see what you can do to remove the pages you own, or you have legal issues with, or just with the outdated content.
