One of my clients sites were hit by penguin 3.0 . I have disvowed all bad links. How long does it generally take to reappear in search? can someone with experience on this comment?

It can take months to forever ..
no one can actually say

simply disvowing 100% links will not work. you need to remove a lot of them, plus make few good ones nofollow.

I am not sur eif you can do 301 redirect for this 3.0 update too

Then whats the point of disvow ?

i dont think after disavow your site will back in ranking but after one more update there will be more chance to get back in ranking

You should at least wait for Penguin to finish rolling out and let the dust settle, don't take immediate action IMO.

Move on to the next one....

The last penguin update I got slapped hard. I recovered stronger than ever after:
using the disavow tool 1 week after slap while continuously trying to get bad links removed.
Gave up on that, and 301 redirected to a new domain. That domain got slapped soon after, so I kept removing bad links. 6 months later I literally begged for link removal to a ton of domains I had paid to get into. Several links were removed and my site recovered within 12 hours of link removal. I still had a ton of bad links pointing at my site, but apparently I had removed enough. I had made a solid effort in googles eyes I guess.
Since then I have become much more careful about building links to sites that I really care about.

The algo update just started rolling out and will continue to roll out this week. I wouldn't do anything just yet. Nothing good comes from panicking.

See how things unfold over the next couple of weeks and then see where you are at. Laslty, you need to try and remove your bad links. Google wants to see that you are making a conscious effort to repair the issue and not just simply disavowing the links.

Good lord, screw your client once and may as well officially screw him further right? Where did you get the god awful advice of disavowing all of your clients links? It's shit like this that gives SEO's a bad name.

most of my clients having a problem with this penguin update. well the best thing you should do is wait until it's finish and check your sites if they were all affected.

Its illiterate people like you who give seo a bad name. I said i disvowed BAD links. not all links. Links which the previous web master built.

My sites gained so much boost it's incredible , 24 positions for main KW 40 positions for second and 12 6 7 for the Long Tailed ones, My backliks are handmade on Blogspot platforms only.

You're goin to have to wait until the next refresh bro.

If a site is penalized by PENGUIN update then it can be recovered in next PENGUIN update only & it may take few weeks, months or even a year.

Although disavowing bad links is a good idea like you did, but I would rather go for a fresh domain without waiting for the next update (which can take unexpected time) & I would prefer to start a fresh domain & prepare an organic backlink profile with proper anchor text ratio to make it GOOGLE PENALTY SAFE.

The reason I'm suggesting this is because the same happened to my site in last PENGUIN update & the fresh domain that I created after the last PENGUIN update not only survived PENGUIN 3.0 but its rankings are also increased.:D
