I recently started a new YouTube channel and when trying to place a link in the description I was prompted that additional verification was needed. I can either upload a copy of my ID, record a video through my webcam, or wait up to 2 months for YouTube to analyze the channel and potentially verify that way. My question is, if you've waited for YouTube to analyze the channel and NOT upload an ID, does it always take the full 2 months? Is it ever completed in a shorter period of time, say 1 month? Along with that.. If you upload an ID, could you just use any ID? This channel was NOT made using my "main" Google account (the account just has a random name associated with it). Can I just change that to match any ID and do it that way? Otherwise, has anyone ever done the "video" option?

I'd like to place a link in my video description, but kind of hate the idea of potentially waiting 2 months and then still not get verified. My videos don't violate copyright or anything, but this also isn't a channel I'm putting videos up on regularly. In 2 months time I might only have a handful of videos uploaded and they might not have hundreds of views. Will that even be enough for them to "analyze" and get verified?

Any input/help would be appreciated. As a temporary solution I have found that I can put a link in the comments, but if I try to pin the comment then it does the same additional verification thing.

I already used the video verification option and it only took like 2-3 hours to get your channel verified.

Verify your account to bypass the limit/restrictions on new YT channels.
