How long till a backlink counts??

I second this.
Happened to me all the time. Too hard to see the exact time needed.
It could probably be in hours, days or even months.

yahoo answers, youtube, etc.. are no follow links. Don't rely too much on them for link juice, mainly for indexing, get the word out about your site. You need to focus on stronger links, especially if you are doing them manually, otherwise if you are working manually to get a weak link that people who use automated softwares get in the range of thousands per day, you are not going to get anywhere soon.

Actually i have tested this for like 100 times. I think the number is 14 days for getting backlinks from web2.0,bookmarking etc sites. If you buy links from high pr,authority websites its a matter of days sometimes 1 day sometimes 6-7 days.

Depends how fast Google will index them. The best is to save them on a document if they are so important, and check if Google has index them time to time.
