How long do you need to warm-up Adwords before running dirty ads?

I've heard 2 weeks from some friends and 1 month from others. What do you guys say?

I start running any ads soon after it is approved as it's not like a network which will keep an eye on you for first few days and then they won't look at you at all.

You should at least warm it up for 1 month to get it to last between 3-4 months if you know what you are doing.
