The most common blog post length, according to ConvertKit, is between 500 and 1,000 words. When ConvertKit divided its data into professional and amateur bloggers, it discovered that professional bloggers are 70% "more likely to create posts of 1,000 words or more."

It depends on your competitors. Write 100-200 words more than your competitors.

Compare with your competitors and use that as benchmark.
However, keep in mind that content length is not an actual rankings factor. If you can match the search intent and context of the query better with less content, you will outperform everyone.

I have better success when I focus a 3k+ word article on a keyword topic rather than just specific keywords.

1000-1500 words is enough. You also have do proper seo of the blog in order to be able to rank in any niche.

I wouldn't say there is some general rule of thumb in these fields, as if you search on different places, you will find pretty different results. Some of the latest statistics even say that texts with more than 7000 words are the most read ones, and this came as a pretty surprising fact. So, if you have an idea and want to add more keywords, then a longer article would be a better choice for you, but if you don't know what would you say and want to write just for the purpose of writing, then better stick with the shorter forms and try generating more of those shorter texts. It really depends on your personal skills and requirements.

It is not about the content length only. There are many other factors like backlinks that will rank your website and bring traffic.
