How long should I wait to buy back link services?

How much content or how long should I let my domain age before buying any sort of back link service? I own a comic book website in which we write our own detailed descriptions of comic book issues so unique content is not an issue. I'm focusing on search engine traffic as a main source along with direct hits. Any and all help is appreciated!

I don't think you need to wait for anything. But before doing the link building try to spread and share you site all over the social media. To make things natural, lets take it this way. You have a new site and you shared something new. Now people shared it all over the social media. And now people are writing and talking about your site = link building.

Just start Buying Links natural way don't build Tons of back links to your site.. Build Good quality links to your site and keep it safe from Google Updates..
 
The only thing you need to make sure is right is your onpage seo before you start link building. But the more content the better before backlinking.

I would advise you not to that. There are only few quality services, chances to find them are pretty low.
 
On a side note, have you also tried Kindle traffic? Children books are in great demand out there when I heard.

First decide if you want to go through a blackhat route or a whitehat route. make your strategies accordingly. If you can get links from PR 3+ pages with a high trust flow, you will be good with 20 links/month. Tried and tested. It works.
 
I'm going for the whitehat route hoping this will be my main website. I'm willing to put in the hard work and the waiting game. I'm just finding it difficult to find comic book related websites that allows me to post a comment or advertise.
 
If you're going white hat then do nothing other than occasional Facebook, Twitter, and Google Plus posts and sign up for yellow pages type sites. Then wait many years. If you want fast you need to either blackhat or PPC.
 
There is no right time, provided you make it look natural. If you blast a brand new domain with 400 links on your first week, you're inviting trouble.

Have the following in-place and you should be good to go

1: Set meta title
2. Meta Description
3. H1 tag
4. 500 words of quality content

Wait until it indexes and then start building links relatively slowly and with good readable content on high pr sites.

If you are worried about the penalty at first then why don't try link building to 2nd tier link first and then if 3 months already passed then you can bombard the site with quality links
 
Ofcourse you don't need to wait for building backlinks. But before do backlinks full fill some thins like
- Correct On page for your site with good title and keyword includes
- Make social media profiles related to your website with keywords includes or brandname.
- Choose good link building services. Don't try such this types "1000 high links to very low prices"( like fiverr gigs) This types of links will help to getting your site penalized very quickly. If you really want it goahead with low quality backlinks.
- Your backlinks (it may self or bought not a matter) should be indexed on google. Then only your site will rank on google top..

You can start slowly building quality backlinks even just after releasing your site. Just make sure your onpage seo is good.
 
I've got one advice for you. When you think the time is right for a backlink service, think good about which one you choose. I have spent a lot of money on backlinks and the only thing i got was a penalized website. I got a good one now, but it is tricky in the beginning. Quantity is not always the right thing. Go for quality!
 
Just drip feed your backlinks when you do create them. A sudden spike might result in a google slap
