Hi everyone, I'm really concerned about my writing speed. For example I write 500 words for 1h 30 without breaks. If that's slow what do you suggest to me?

Hi, @claysmithpc.

There is no ideal or standard speed when it comes to being an effective writer. There are specific topics where I can write a 500-word article in 10 to 15 minutes. Those are the topics that I really know even in my sleep (e.g. my businesses). There are topics that might take hours or days worth of research.

Perhaps, you're concerned about your speed because you have a quota to meet in a day. Is that the case? If that's the case, maybe there's a need to adjust your quota. Don't bite more than what you can only chew, so to say.

It depends from topic to topic but there is always a scope for improvement.

On my own topics, I'll burn out 500 words in like 10-15 mins. I'm a native english speaker with personal knowledge of my niches though. So its a bit difficult to gauge what you should be doing.

Dont think about the speed, Just do it with your own speed, speed will grow up with the experience.

Unless you've got a news site that you run on your own, you shouldn't worry about how long it takes to a write an article. Just write the best article you can. If it takes all day, so be it.

Targeted for my keywords, takes me about 15 minutes per ~500 words.

If you are talking about research time included it can take me between 1.5 to 2.5 hours to write a well structured 1,000 word article.

If I know my topic back to front the above will take about 40mins. Unless you have quotas to meet, dont worry about it.

1 quality post > 5 crappy posts.

Hello friend. At the very first time, for sure you will take long before you start writing very fast. I remember that during the first times, I was taking close to three hours to finish the blog post. but today, I will say that I take less than 30 minutes to write such a post. I will tell you that through experience, you will find the who process interesting. Maybe one area that consumes some time is the are of research but once you are good at that, everything will be fine.

There is no particular set time limit.

For subjects I don't know much about it will take me almost 1.5h for 500 articles. BBut the subjects I know, I can do 800-100 in 1h.

One trick that worked for me and made me faster:

1. Start with the title (use a sentece type of title).
2. Move to paragraph titles (this should be your sub-title paragraphs) - create each paragraph as a nice.
3. In earch paragrah use 3 or 4 keywords and develop senteces out of the.

Fo me, this top down approach works best.

I don't think is any ideal time for writing effective and quality content writing. It simply depends on upon the topic for which you are going to write :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Indeed, there's no ideal speed and standard time in writing articles. If you're a newbie in writing, don'tforce yourself to finish a 500 word article for just 15minutes, instead, focus on your research and relax your mind while writing. Take your time, make it natural, informative and useful to your readers. Just remember, scrappy articles have no place in Google Serp.

Like everyone says, it just depends. It depends on your typing speed, your ability to think on the fly, and how much info you put in. One thing that helps me go fast is to make a quick outline before starting - kind of like you would do for a school essay. Then you can just write without having to think too much. You can also try doing dictation which can help you produce a lot in little time.

The writing time includes the research then you can get the good piece of contents at all time, but make sure your topics are well known to you If yes then you can possible to craft it even quicker. So, practise well and keep up the good work of you, you will sure to reduce your writing time.

Though I'm not a expert writer, allow me to convey my opinion.

You can write very fast if you keep stealing ideas from others. Just take a idea and write as much as you can on that thing. After you're done, move onto the next. And the next.

Keep an eye on the word count, write as much as you want, after you're happy with the number start pulling in the conclusion.

The real thing starts here. You see, the first draft is messy, if not shitty. So, don't worry about it. Editing is the thing that makes writing tight and powerful.

You can follow the following editing tips:

1) write in active voice
2) cut down unnecessary words
3) use strong verbs to minimize word count
E.g. I will teach you how to do the work perfectly.
Instead: I will teach you to nail / perfect the work.
4) last but not least, read your writing aloud. So e sentences would sound diluted, fix them.

That's all I can remember now, if anything else comes to mind, I'll let you know later.

And yes, almost forgot, if your typing speed is fast, you can generate up to 1000 words in an hour, by stealing ideas, of course. The rule of thumb is: invest time in editing as well.

Have a good day. :)

It depends on your skills and your research ideas about the topic.
Take your own time to finish the content as much as quality instead of quantity.
Good luck:).
