I have not been active with my new website built on the domain name web designinsydney since July 2014. It was built in June of this year.

The domain name was penalized in 2011 or 2012 by google for heavy back linking.

I have been notified that it has been removed and my domain is clear. I am not sure if this is true as the results I am seeing are still not good.

What are your thoughts? See attached. Also, there is no data for back links? I will check with my software to show the activity. I need your thoughts on this also. What is the best way to manage this?

I did have a website behind my website calledweb designinsydneyphotography which has now been moved. Only a few days ago.
The third attachment shows me heaps of back links? Both onwebdesigninsydney and also web designinsydney

Also, it was only last night that I found about 10 theme pages still sitting in the website that I removed. Yet to work on the on page SEO and improve content.

Before I do so, I need some advice. Would I be wasting my time as some of the main keywords are position at 400+. This tells me it is still penalized?

Would love to hear your thoughts and start the hiring process so you can work in fixing this issue.

I have been active on social media for the past 4 weeks only. No new content has been added since the build and no off page seo activities.

You mention that the spam links have been removed/cleared? I assume somebody has disavowed the links... Post disavow is more sensitive to link building as disavow is another way to tell G that you have been gaming the system... Suffice to say I would proceed to create new content.. Test for ranking with a easy to rank, low competitive keyword, fire a few good backlinks at it and if it ranks great ... continue with new content and expand to other keywords... Also check to see how your website responds to search... Does it rank first place for its own domain name? search for unique bits/sentences on your website etc and if it returns with no strange anomalies then you are okay.. You just need to buckle up and keep moving forwards with sustained content building etc...
