I saw a thread on reddit about how long it takes to get monetized and most of the people were talking about it took them 1+ year. Some got monetized after 2 years. Is this normal?

Of course there are a lot of factors, such as consistency, niche, quality of your videos etc.

I don't think I can consistently upload 2-3 videos per week for 1+ year without earning a shit. It would be demotivating and I need to earn money to keep this thing going.

P.s. I'm not viewing YouTube as a hobby. If it doesn't make me money then it's a waste of time.

If you think this way, then maybe you should just upload some long videos and buy some high retention views and subscribers from SMM panels to quickly monetize it

There are several reliable panels out there who provider 4000 watch hours for about $140, but you do need a 60 minute+ video uploaded on your channel, embedding on the video must also be enabled.

4000 watch hours from a reliable panel should take 5-10 days to completed, and then after the deliver of views is completed you may need to wait upto 7 days more for them to update in the "Earn" Section of YouTube Creators Studio.

Just buy fake views and fake subscribers then

It all depends on your content, if it is trending and also if people enjoy watching your content for more time or not, if you see that you have good retention rates, go ahead and create videos that are longer than what you usually post. Again this can take a while, like a Month or so

If you do not want to wait for any of this, just go ahead and buy good quality subscribers and watch hours from a good smm panel in the marketplace here in BHW. Most monetization services takes 1-2 weeks for completion. There are smm panel who will help you with steps on how to get your channel successfully Monetized.

In a couple of months your channel should get monetized if you post good content

now is very difficult with fake views for hours it's very expensive, youtube could check if you have fake views. Better to have traffic, if you have good content is easy to get first traffic for monetization

my channel monetize after 9 month, 2-3 post a week, long form only.

Sometimes you gotta play the long game in order to make money. But you can always buy views and subs here to get monetised faster.

Yeah, it’s pretty common for video monetization on YouTube to take a year or more since hitting 1k subs + 4k watch hours isn’t easy. But relying only on ads can be demotivating. Many creators use platforms like VPlayed which helps in complete video monetization method to set up their own pay-per-view or subscription model, so they start earning sooner while still growing on YouTube.

A veces hay que apostar a largo plazo para ganar dinero. Pero siempre puedes comprar visualizaciones y suscripciones aquí para monetizar más rápido.
Wouldn't you have problems later with the recommendation?

I see people advising you to buy fake views and fake subscribers but my question is will the channel be monetizable after buying fake

You need to understand supply and demand on YouTube. A niche with high demand and low competition can get your channel monetized in 20 days, without any of this nonsense about buying views.

You can buy monetized accounts for $200

But answering your question, with full dedication I was able to monetize my channel in two months

It's a hard work because you have to upload one long video a day during that time

But with a 3 min video a day, made with AI about mtf Shapeshifting (some own clips and some "borrowed") i have reached the 4000 hours and 1000 subs in two months

if you're treating YouTube as a business, you want ROI, not just views.

Monetization (via YouTube Partner Program) usually requires:1,000 subscribers4,000 watch hours in the past 12 months, or 10M Shorts views in 90 days

Timeframe varies a lot, but here’s a rough idea:

Fast-track (3–6 months): If you’re in a trending niche, posting high-quality, searchable content, and optimizing well (thumbnails, titles, SEO).Average (6–12 months): With consistent uploads (2–3/week), solid editing, and some niche demand.

YT is an hard stick mate , try adsense over blogging or some other ad funnels

There is no particular timeline for monetization. For some of my friends, it took a year, for some it's just 2 or 3 months. It's all about finding the right content idea and knowing how to play the game.
