How Long Does It Take To Become "Good" At Graphics?

So I have been studying Photoshop for 2 years with a 6 month break in between. Spent about 20 minutes a day on average learning the stuff. I am looking at Job Boards and they are looking for people with Graphics degrees (which takes 3 years to complete) for jobs (and these jobs at best pay an average salary for a Western country). Not neccessarily looking for a job as such but how long do I have to "practice" Photoshop before I can start looking for clients?

search designs that you like and try to replicate them, once you can do this with ease you will do awesome designs
also, it depends a lot because maybe some desing if perfect for you but for other person its horrible

Thanks for the suggestion, I will do this going forward. To date I have just been following along some courses and do my own design mostly for social media.
 
Well I have a degree in graphics. I would say it's mostly based on talent though. If you have talent build a nice portfolio website and apply.

What did you do with your Graphics degree?
 
I do social media, and I personally hated editing & creating images, but over time I was able to build my skills. Not sure if canva counts LOL, but im able to create pretty advanced visual charts & PDFs in no time. Id take the advice given above of creating a portfolio. People want results, they dont care about you are your degrees.

I worked in a lot of places from smaller agencies to large corporations.
It helped me for doing what I need but I mostly work in the programming side now
and I'm more interested in web apps, mobile apps etc these days so I do that.

I started learning design and programming etc before my degree and I took the classes because I was interested.

Don't worry about the pay starting out, I more than tripled what I was making from when I started in about 10 years.

If you are good you will be rewarded just like anything else. Hustle and keep trying to get better.

Personally I have some passion towards graphics so I guess that helps. I signed up to Canva yes its quick and easy and is a good tool. The question is were you able to make money by doing social media graphics?

I understand its possible to earn 1000 dollars a day as a freelance Programmer. I guess that is a great alternative to an Internet Marketer.

Funny, yeah I am a marketer myself :D Clearly these skills help in this field.
 
You have a bad attitude buddy, a pessimist one. You should take the risks and become aggressive and act like an absolute pro.

Why? Because you love what you're doing, and because you can't just wait, you have to take action. It's a must!

You know everything. Act like that, and start asking for jobs from all over.

I learned doing awesome stuff in blender with zero knowledge. Just copy the right tutorial.

Waiting/practicing is your worst option.
