Just wondering. I am sure that one will get faster if he is doing it all the time. What about topics you have no clue about ?

If I have no clue about the topic, I open about 15 browser tabs on the topic and flick back and forth between them to make my article. Takes me about 5 minutes.

Nice. Can i outsource you for 10 bucks an hour ?

The answer depends on so many factor and most important of them all is the quality of the article.

I can write a unique, 500 words articles in about 3 minutes by just smashing my fingers across my keyboard writing whatever comes into my mind. While that article will still be on topic, it won't have any real value for the readers.

On the other hand, if I'm writing content for my personal blog where I post SEO case studies and results of my experiment, it would take a lot more than just a few minutes to put together a well researched article... some that will make my readers WANT to signup subscribe to my blog.

Most of the time is spent on research. Maybe 10-15mins.

Once thats done, writing the article takes no more than 10mins (including editing time). I use dragon naturally speak. Still getting use to it tbh. So a lot of time wasted wrestling with NS spitting out random words:)

quality content ideally should depend on the topic and in depth knowledge on the subject ideally about 20 mins should be good

This is all the answer you need.

But if you are talking about an article for link building purposes, I use dragon naturally speaking so around 4 minutes if researched is not needed. If research is needed, that would average between 10-20 minutes per article with dragon.

Get dragon here in case you don't have it already

I would say 30-60 minutes for front page quality stuff. The kind of content that people want to read and makes the reader evoke emotional response.

I think content that has readability could be done in 10-30 minutes, though. Maybe giving up some overall flow or quality, imo.

Depends on how much brain thought you put into it. A good one will take at least 2-3 hours

Wow that's insane. But i remember writing one for like 2 hours. I think i have never written another one because it was too much work and did not pay off that much.

It really depends, when you are in a groove and the words are just hitting paper, than writing a 500 word article can definitely be done in 15-20 minutes but when you are not it might even take an hour.
