How long does it take for google to recalculate rank data?

I had a site that had shit onpage seo. I rebuilt the page entirely from scratch two days ago (fresh content, better on page, etc). My rankings are still dancing between 152 - 340. How long will it take for google to recalculate the new site's rank in it's index.

Also how can I tell if google has visited the site recently? I am not using GWT.

Depending how much Google like your site. But from one to two weeks it is nothing to get worried.

For telling how often Google visited your site recently I would maybe have a look either on the serp cache or in the server statistics. Depending how your hoster provide server Visitor Tracking you can furthermore try to filter or have a look how many and what search engine robots visited your site.

The reason i was nervous is because now it has been 4 days, I'm still building links but I just keep dancing between 160 - 340. The original page had very little on page (no h1) etc. I'm hoping google sees the page and I make substantial jump. If it already has crawled then I must have some type of penalty.

Well it has been 4 days and previous to this major rebuild the site was not changing much & it was less then 3 weeks old. I will give it another 2 weeks before I assume there is a penalty & abandon the domain for 3 months. I'm still drip feeding fresh links. However for the first time ever I used directories as part of my strategy. Could be too many too fast.

if you use good quality content your site should be rank faster then other.

It's all fresh content. The whole site from top to bottom is different. It should rank higher without a doubt. Since GWT is not installed we can't tell if there is a penalty & that's the only variable left.

Don't see the point in opening the gates to the enemy. If I want analytics I can use clicky or other tools.

Actually this time depends on the performance of your seo operation. Try to moderate it as you want. But to get the best result you should study more and more in the relevent field.

Is this a troll / spam post? What does studying have to do with anything?

And what do u mean the relevant field? I'm researching the issue using my resources & BHW Is one of them.
