how long does it generally take an advertiser to approve your request?

i just joined and it seems like every offer that sounded decent had manual approval process.. am i going to be waiting days to hear back from them? I am anxious to test some methods without having to wait days just for an answer.

Sometimes it takes days, sometimes it takes weeks. Also, if the website that you used to sign up to CJ with is not in the same niche as the affiliate program that you're applying to, you will most likely get turned down. Personally, I like to find or get approved for the offer first and then build a site around it, but with CJ, you must already have a suitable site before you apply to any program that requires manual approval (that is, if you want to get approved).

just signup to as many as possible, and many will auto-approve you, the other will take sometime.

well thank you both.. yeah, kinda sux because the offers are going to look good before you build a site for that specific niche. Rep added

I've had an advertiser who did it half a year after my request

If you find it urgent, write the advertiser an email, that is also increasing your chances of approval

It's hard to figure out an average. I have been a member of CJ for several years and some advertisers approve/deny in less than a day and some never do it at all. I have 3 programs now that are pending since Feb 2008 :/
