How long do forum posts last?

I was wondering (generally speaking)

How long does it take before my post drops off of the 1st page in a forum or
How long does it take for them to drop off the "NEW POSTS" section?

I've noticed I get a lot of hits to my sites when I post in forums... usually for a few hours then it dies off..

and if I post a comment on that post.. I generally get traffic again for the same periods.. I guess because the post goes to the top of the list or people are clicking on NEW POSTS to see the latest..... any how I thought it would be interesting to track how long the pages stay on either page 1 of that forum section or in the what's new section..
I'm using WEBMON" ( pretty old web site monitor tool to let me know when my post falls off the forum.. .. I have it set to run a macro that will text my cell phone when it drops off..

What do you think?

As new threads are posted, your thread keeps moving down the page until someone makes a reply on your thread. Then it moves to the top of the 1st page again, and so on.

In regards to bumping your thread, that is not allowed and it will be noticed if you start doing it too much. BHW want's informative, valuable posts.
