I only started in November. Im starting up what will hopefully be an authority site, but at the moment it is based on Amazon affiliates.

Honestly, however stupid this may sound, my main issues are:

Getting my 3 qualifying sales so that my ads don't look quite so shit (edit and so that I can use geo locate)

And 2, getting more traffic. Everyone wants more traffic.

I am learning on and off page seo and I have someone helping me with that, I think I have that side of it sorted. (Until I realise I dont)...

I think I have probably just described everyone's biggest hurdles with AA though. :D

It was truly horrible. I was literally a salve because I had no other job and didn't get a single dollar for years, it took so long mainly because of trial/error, personal issues and overall circumstances. luckily my mother provided food but I definitely made the mistake of not having a job while starting out.

I highly suggest you have a backup (eg: savings, job, etc) while your Internet businesses start generating revenue.

I develop software and the reason I didn't give up is because there is a huge market and growth opportunities in this industry and I truly wanted my slice of this delicious cake.

Well good for you man. Yeah I have a full time job, although I am part time at the moment. Hope to make it this work tho.
 
For me it was 10 years ago.. full time 5 yrs ago.. Just concentrate on ONE thing and excel in it..

I got money from Adsense before I even started to get seriously into IM. I had a YouTube channel back in 2010. Uploaded videos of soccer tricks and tutorials, filmed and edited by myself. Monetized them and got around $300 per month. After that I tried ways to scale up, ended up with other methods etc.

Thank you. I have been wondering about adsense. What level of traffic do you think will make it worth it?
 
It took me about 5 months of screwing around to make my first real $1.00 online. At month 6, I ended up making $200.00, and by month 10 I was up to the $1000.00 a month mark. This lasted for 1 month, and 3 months later (month 13) I was left making $0.00 again because I depended on a platform to earn money (bad, bad, bad).

The next 2 years were extremely slow. So slow in fact that in 2018, I only made a total of $793.00. I went from earning $4000.00 online in 2017 to earning $793.00 online in 2018. So far in 2019, however, I've earned $1437.00 online. That's $644.00 more than I earned through the entire year of 2018- in about 4 months.

I guess my entire point for stating these earnings is: it's easy to make money online in the short term when you get "lucky" with a method/platform, but it's easy for everything to disappear overnight as well.

From what I heard it changed a lot. When I did it (around 2010 to 2012) it was fine. Now it seems they are paying less and are very strict. Not so customer friendly anymore.

I had about 10k views per day if I remember right. It also depends on where your traffic comes from etc.

10k per day for $300 per month? only any use as a top up then? should look specifically for adsense threads, but as you are here...;)
 
Funny enough, i haven't made mine yet. I'm 21 BTW. I believe i'd soon hit it. Just trynna get somethings fixed and treat it like a job(just got that tip from this thread lol).
