I know there are a lot of noobs on here like me that would love to hear success stories of how you went from slaving at a desk to working full time on your own (dont need to share your methods)
I know that people from around the world all have different levels of income to be able to live on or live well but if you turned this into full time consistent money how long did it take you to get there?

4 years I was a full time blogger.
Still looking for a quick way to success without buying media.
But I think, buying media is the fastest way to scale your business

I live in Florida as well. I found a blackhat method right here on BHW and went to fulltime IM immediately (around the same time I was let go from my posh corporate job) - sounds crazy, but it is true. I have not looked back since and I have been relying on IM as a full-time income ever since.

There are little gems hidden here and there in this forum - you just have to find them, test them, and then SCALE them up. Scaling (for me at least) has been key. I have had many ups and downs since - enjoy the ride my friend.

Florida is the best. I moved down here from up North and never had any desire to move back.
So did you have experience in IM before you came here and used that method from here?

So you think Media buying is the best way to get started?

The issue I see is the concept of running an online company. People always want to escape the 9-5 grind, but I
think that is the wrong mindset to have if you want to make it big.

Yeah sure I work for myself and have some employees counting on their checks, but instead I am on call 10+ hours
a day and have to show more self discipline than a boss doing the pushing for me. Maybe I don't just fire up the PC
from a starbucks for 2 hours and bank hard, but I have a ceiling that's not limited by nothing but my own arse! :)

And that my friend is true freedom!

So yeah I failed a bit getting started but came out of it quickly. Mindset means a lot. If you are really going to run online
companies then expect to put in way more time than working a 9-5 job, nevertheless you do free your success cap.

Good luck to you!

Before I found this forum I was dabbling with eBay and made some great earnings as a side gig. But as far as completely IM related earnings it started here. That being said, I was putting in 16 - 18 hour days (no lie) to make money with IM. I am still attached to my laptop many hours of the day (ask my wife! - she sits next to me watching TV as I am hacking away at this gig!). But the freedom from not having a boss breathing down my neck telling me what to do is worth it. I make a very sizable income and I know the future only holds more for me. Positive thinking my friend! I have had a few down months recently and it was a BIG hit to my "IM ego" but now I am back up and raking it in. IM life is a tumultuous one ( for me at least) - but the stress relief and empowerment from a 9 - 5 working for "the man" is worth it. Press through and get that dough my man!

It took around 6 months to decide to go full time with IM but almost another year to make enough money to compensate for my 9-5 salary.

I guess I started full time, besides summer youth jobs, my first real job was my first adult site at 19. I sold it a month after i launched for $500 to buy a better CMS for my next adult site. From there on out i was making enough to support myself. Ironically i took a few 9-5 jobs while running my sites as kind of a social experiment, to go out and meet people and not spend all day everyday online, but ultimately IM is way more lucrative and rewarding. Even if it means hustling 12-14 hours a day, it's from home in my underwear, or anywhere else i want to be.

I go to college and I do 5 figures a month.

If I was doing IM full time I would hit 6 figures a month in really no time.

Actually I'm planning to do it by "studying" college "by distance" and focus 100% on IM!

Down here in Mexico the average salary is around $400 USD / month (average of $13.50 USD/day) so yea I'm doing extremely good at this compared to where I live and what people do. :)

I hope to go full time on IM in a couple of months and reach that cool first millionth dollar! ;)

Reading these comments makes me realize two things... A. I'm doing something wrong B. It's great motivation.

Before I've quit my job I was working for additional two hours per day (to be honest most of these minutes were finished on my regular job, but the boss didn't know:) ). it took about 2 months before I went full time. 15 months after I've quit my job, I am working overtime now:)

Its like im doing something wrong too......getting the inspiration
