I have a new blog about 1.5 weeks old now and i noticed that all my posts are getting indexed already but none of my images that I checked for show up in Google images. How long can it take for images to get indexed in Google images? I normally would not even notice this but this blog's images are a vital point for it, so I decided to check for them today and noticed I couldn't find any.

    Hi There..

Before checking the images over the google images, first make sure that you have put the alt tag in each of the images, because this is the only thing which let google know that this media belongs for this particular search term. The best practice for putting the alt tag is to select the targeted keywords or phrases in the alt tag.

I think rahul is right, you should check the alt tag in each of the images.

I personally set the alt tag, title tag AND file name to the keyword I want. Works wonders for me :).

Edit: the text surrounding the image also matters. Ie. hey check out this picture of keyword <img alt="keyword".../>

for the alt tag does it matter if you put spaces in it? or should you put all the words together? like "thisismykeywords" instead of "this is my keywords"

also i seen a article that said when you name your image file you should not put spaces in it, but instead use dashes in place of spaces is this true? like this-is-my-keywords.jpg

No, It does not matter how you write the words within the quotes, as google is going to compare a string with string only so as soon as some one type "This is my keyword" in the google image search, the google will compare the alt tags of all the images crawled by its bots and will show the results.
