I have decided to focus on mobile apps and websites as my business model. I have a few rough packages drawn up but I have not done a business plan yet.

Either way. How are you guys doing with your mobile business?
Nice clients? What are your hot up sells?
This is the round table, let us toast together and reap benefits!

Also Post resources if you have any.
I tried to post 3 websites that I frequent to get information, but it says I had to be a member for longer. PM me if you want more info.

Lets Mobilize folks.

I'm active in the US. VPS I have checked out your services and I'm going to jump in as soon as my other business is set up and bringing me income. I really like the model.

I also decided to start offering mobile websites to local businesses and I provide mobile websites as an added solution with a desktop website for my clients. I have been using dudamobile.com which has a feature that converts a regular website into a mobile site that you can just link up with a mobile subdomain.

As for now, I'm still looking for new ideas in terms of mobile clients acquisition, mobile local searches and mobile marketing. Anyone who can assist me with these would be very much appreciated. I would also like to hear some other mobile business models to try out and post results here.

Good to hear that you are interested in VPSMobile! If there is anything I can do to help you, please let me know! Feel free to add me on Skype or ICQ.

I have been using DudaMobile and bmobilized to make quick mock ups before I show to customers. Currently I'm just walking into restaurants and speaking to managers while showing them a mobile website and what we offer. I think if I order a meal and ask them to come sit down with me as I eat and explain the business to them. Any smart and tech savvy owner will upgrade. So far only 1/3 fish have bit.

I've been thinking of getting into local mobile marketing recently too. I wanted to also include SMS services for the businesses along with a mobile website if they need one. Do you currently offer any SMS marketing for them or are you strictly focusing on setting up their mobile sites?

What do you normally charge for a site to be made and how do you build it? I saw you used dudamobile for the mockup, but do they also build the site for you too? I've never used them so not sure how it all works.

Oh yeah and are you able to post those 3 websites yet that you frequent to get information? If you can't post them, would you mind PMing them to me?

Thanks.

I've got tons of mobile dating traffic & no idea what to do with it. Wish someone would hmu and give me an idea of where to send it. I'm just wasting 500-1000$ a day...I've been ignoring the very existence of it for the last 3-4 years. Just because no-ones ever approached me and said..."hey i've got an awesome product for you to promote, let's sit down & discuss the details". And I just don't have the time or patience to do all the research myself since I'm mostly in the personal computer to website/online sales side of things. So very poorly...but only for my lack of trying so far :)

I get about 16% of my revenue from mobile devices.. conversion rate is slightly lower but still, its a nice chunk. My site isn't mobile optimised though, if anyone knows how to make mobile optimised sites, please share info!

Download the WP Touch plugin as that's probably the easiest way. Or you can use something like dudamobile.com to convert it to a mobile site which seems to give you a lot more options.

Yeah I've only toyed around with dudamobile so far myself but it seems really awesome and I've seen a few others recommend it too. It does cost money but it's pretty cheap. I think if you sign up as an affiliate, you can get it for $6 per month instead of $9.

Is anybody willing to share some good method in client acquisition if you live abroad?

I live in Europe and I want to get clients from US cause they pay better.
I work with US consultants everyday doing custom mobile websites for their clients (they outsource the designs to me cause i don't use any template or builder ,i like to get them something unique) but I want to get my very own client for higher revenue of course.I just want to be bale to sell them for $300 for example ... i got my very own business website up, portfolio, US phone number, I have a team of designers trained by me for when I'm overwhelmed ... but still don't know how to get clients on my own :(

Is anybody doing it and working? I'm willing to do some free work or even pay after I get my very first own clients for a working method.

Good luck with your business as I hope I will get mine started on my own soon too, even if it will be remotely.

Well I haven't got my first sale yet. But I have not taken MASSIVE action, I have been doing more planning but all that changes this week.

I try to package SMS services with the mobile sites so that they have short and long term value.
I'm charging $800 for a basic site. I'm building with a white label solution very similar to duda mobile but I use the site builder more to just get quick mockups or chassis if you will. From there I do custom editing. I have so many different information sites now that I'm not sure which I was referring to the first time. Google search Mobile marketing or why have a mobile website and just learn about the stats. BHW has great information as well.

Good luck.

Getting clients is just putting yourself where the clients are. Search on your local classifieds and also see who is doing a lot of advertising in newspapers and magazines. Mobile websites optimize mobile traffic so there is a whole group of business some people are not taking advantage of. Just set up a basic website saying what you do then just start emailing and cold calling or walking into businesses.

PM sent btw

There are some good journeys on mobile businesses right now. Check them out.

its not the easiest, there are a lot of skepticism about it. slow for now
