If you are hardcore SEO or an agency you will definitly go for Ahref or SEMRush.
But for about 80% of editors, Ubersuggest is enough. The keywords tool is comparable to Ahref in terms of accuracy.
The historic data doesn't above one year whereas SEMRush gives you a picture for several years.
The rank tracker is so so but it gets better overtime. I see more backlinks than before.
And the updates are less frequent. You might get the data of a competitor from last month. So you'll need a bit of time to check accurately the current rankings of your competitors after a Google core update.
This can be annoying - you can put your competitor in one of your projects to get a live update of their rankings but it will costs you one spot.
And yeah, the lifetime version offers a clean picture of all the keywords you track in one place. A great time saver for me personally.
There are some bugs but the customer service has been good so far for me.

I bought the agency plan and noticed the keywords of my projects recently didn't update.
I got that answer :

If you would like to keep a daily follow-up on your ranks, you can change it inside your projects. You go to Dashboard > Tracked Keywords > Settings (inside the Position Tracking, next to the PDF Report Button).
"
You mainly pay more money on those plans to track the positions of your websites (projects). No way it is a minor change if you have to wait a week to check your positions after a Google update.
Now you have to change it manually to daily or you will have automatically updates of your keywords every week.
I wasn't noticed of that so it made me a bit angry.
I hope they don't change that again in the future. I understand they try to limit the server ressources but weekly updates instead of daily updates is a big downgrade.

Its good than nothing... it's free... If anyone not with scrapebox or basic tools would be free choice to generate long tails. Can't even think with ahrefs :/ two different purposes honestly

I uses only free and trial versions of Ubersugest and ahref. To be honest i didn't notice any difference in accuracy when tested on my websites.
Just dont rely completely on these. Lot of keywords they say are having 0 searches are brining me 1000s of visits monthly.
Try using common sense on what problem people may have, and what will they search even if tools say it is bad keyword.
