How is this site ranking?

So i discovered this site that is ranking for probably some of the most competitive keywords in google such as "mesothelioma lawyer" or "asbestos lawyer". In some cases this site even has two on a page. The site is www.mesotheliomalawyercenter.org and here is the bizarre part. If you look at ahrefs the site went from zero backlinks on June 9th of 2016 to over 30 thousand and climbing as of August 1st. How is this even possible to increase in backlinks and rankings in little over a month without penalty?

Windmm is right, but have a look at the links and you know how they are doing it and why Google loves these links. There is a lot to learn from this, although copying this approach is extremely difficult. The art of social engineering combined with deep pockets

He's probably using some hidden PBN links. But seriously man, remove the link asap.
