That blogspot subdomain is what's helping it. Naturally web 2.0 properties can rank better and take a beating link wise than brand new sites.

Yeah I made a blogspot with a decent domain name, same format as the site in question. My content is better, by far.
Question:
Creating 5-6 web 2.0's w/ 5-6 articles each
submitting them all to blog directories and giving each a few backlinks
And then pointing them all to this blogger blog,
will that work? Or is that something Google dont want?

5-6 web 2.0 sites are good, make sure you also build links to these web2.0 blogs to pass more juice to your blogspot blog.
