How is this possible on google?

Hi everyone,
I happened to see in my country that there are sites that sell pirated courses from famous guru.
The thing that seems absurd to me is that many of them are on Google search and are sometimes ranked before the original course!
One of these sites which seems to be the largest and most organised, is also sponsored on Google Ads...
On the homepage and throughout the site it is clear that other people's courses are bought, there are photos and everything, and it says that it is "groupbuy".
What I don't understand is, how is it possible that they can be first in organic search and also sponsored? Aren't Google and the law against this content?

Yes, it is against Google's guidelines but there are loopholes evade detecting and penalties.
 
Plus, Google is a mess right now tbh so it's no surprise.

Group buy sites most of the times avoid writing the name of the course explicitly to avoid getting deindexed. Also, group buys aren't like purely illegal unless course sellers have a policy which forbids the buyer to not resell course.


Now for the course seller to convey this info to google and get the site deindexed is very hard to as there is not a specific dashboard made for it but they can try doing dmca which is again easily avoidable by indexing a new page with a new url because the domain almost never gets deindexed.
 
Google has nothing to do with DMCA content, you can rank it just like any other website/page, they only take it down in case if it's reported,
and to answer your question they do have better overall SEO (on & off) according to google algo, that's why they're ranking them,

i'm referring to SEO,
Google ads have its seperate algo

Hey, I've run into a similar situation before, and it's frustrating as heck. Here's the lowdown: those sites selling pirated courses are like sneaky little ninjas, slipping through the cracks and showing up on Google like they own the place.

Now, here's the deal with Google and the law: technically, yeah, they're not cool with pirated stuff. But sometimes these sites slip through the cracks, especially if they're using tricky tactics like changing up their keywords or flying under the radar.

Well, you can report these sites to Google and let them know what's up. It might not solve the problem overnight, but every little bit helps.
 
Don't get me wrong, they don't sell my course or anything like that, I'm not interested in the legal aspect but as a case study to understand how they do it.
I see that the names of course and creator are very clear, you can even buy with a card other than crypto, and all these sites don't seem to use tricks such as various redirects etc.
I think that surely of all the trainers who have taken the course, someone will have made some complaint or something like that but the site has been there for years, and have like 10.000 visit for month.

It's simple. They manipulate Google rankings through various strategies and get to the top and make sales.
