Hi everyone, I’ve been tracking the recent updates and it feels like Google is shifting away from being a traditional search engine. What are the biggest moves Google is making in 2026 to improve its platform? Specifically, I'm interested in how they are balancing AI-generated overviews with organic publisher traffic. Is SEO as we know it completely changing into GEO (Generative Engine Optimization)?"

I think Google is evolving, not disappearing. In 2026 they are focusing on AI summaries, better user intent understanding, and quality signals like experience, relevance, and helpful content. AI overviews don’t replace publishers, but Google tries to blend machine-generated answers with real links so people still click through to helpful sites. SEO is adapting it’s not gone, it’s becoming more about user value and context, not just keywords and links.

Google is showing more AI answers and keeping people on its own page. So simple or copied content won't work like before. SEO is not dead, but you need real, helpful content and some trust behind your site. Strong brands and useful websites will still do fine.

I agree, that's why you have to humanize your AI content EVERY time. Because google can pick it up if it's AI and it will not rank you better than the rest of repetitive AI sh*t content that everybody uses,

Totally agree with this. So we have to evolve to this way.
