IMO free hosting services are suitable for web development students. As you are looking for a forum hosting, at least you need choose shared hosting account. [/FONT]
there are few sites like doteasy and hostgator that offers the first month free on its like unlimited plan
and yes i am looking for a webhost that will allow me to use the phpbb forums .. but atm im not looking to spend alot..just want to test the waters and see how much traffic i can generate
how do i update nameservers? would it cost money to transfer? if so i might as well get my domain from the same webhost
and what i mean by the free month is.. doteasy has a code that allows me to get 1 month of the unlimited plan for free.. what i want to know is what happens after that 1 month. what happens to my domain and content?

Simply go to the domain registrars website (mostly you can change your nameservers there ) And set the nameservers exactly your web host suggested in your control panel.
No there is no cost for updating nameservers. And most of the web hosts register domain names behalf of their clients.
After one month they will send you an invoice of hosting charges. You need to contact their sales representative to discuss further billing issues.

stay away from doteasy. they are ripper! they will ask for your credit card and security code if you got suspended to charge you $25 per domain. do not trust them. can you imagine giving your security code with a scan of your credit card front and back. stay away from them!
