How is BuildMyRank (BMR) TODAY?

I've heard so much good about BMR but I am starting to wonder how outdated that info is. I've used them for 2 months now...over 180 posts, and average PR of 2. I really didn't signup and put this kind of effort in to get listed on PR 2 pages. Plus these pages are not even PR 2 by themselves... the homepage is a PR2.

Yea, sometimes you'll get a PR 4, but its rare and again, that's the homepage only. The other thing that bugs me is the quality of their posts... they have only got worse with poor grammar and spelling in the last couple of weeks. Sometimes the title will have misspelled words that I have to go in and fix myself! At $2.5 / 150 words, you wouldn't think this would be an issue.

So far I have not been able to track any results back to BMR. Plus, their most recent update in the admin areas is:

"August 5, 2010 - Improving network diversity further with addition of new IP addresses from Germany, England, Spain and the Netherlands."

Are we dealing with an outdated / expired service or is there still a good reason to pay these guys every month?

2.5$/150 words is a pure rip off, 4x the norm price. I'd rather hire my own writers that can do 3x better than them at that price. I personally dont use BMR anymore since I didn't see much effect when I used them.
 
I never work with a company that doesn't have an active forum. Never a good sign when the posts are over a year old.

Build my rank definitely can rank sites if used with other link building methods...

@op - $2.5/post? That's way too much mate. Can get these posts at $1, maybe less..
 
BMR is popular because all of the blogs are PR1+ and they do a very good job of getting links indexed, both of which are very good attributes to have in a blog network, but honestly i dont think its worth the cost/link ratio. Authority Link Network and Article Ranks are both similar but give you a ton of links for every submission and you can submit spun junky content instead of only unique, grammatically correct stuff, making them much better IMHO
 
One trick that I have found to pump out content a lot easier is to use Dragon Naturally Speaking. I can speak posts a lot faster than I can type them. I can now crank out a 300 word post in about 2-3 minutes
 
after 135 distributed posts as of today it works for low/medium competition keywords. It does get expensive. I have my own writers for 60-70 cents per post. I have over 100 posts for one high competition keyword and see some movement.But I also do other stuff.....

Buttom line is that yes it works I would give it a try. Iam currently trying ama(submitted 5 articles) articleranks(submitted 2 articles) and voltrank.

I will continue to use bmr for some more time.
 
As others said, I'm also seeing good results with low to medium competition keywords. I also have my own writers and my own bot to submit the articles in BMR.

Another thing I have seen is that if you write longer posts, they tend to approve them easier, even if you have some typos or words that don't make sense. I achieve this by having all of my keywords at the beginning of the article. I think they just read the sentences with anchor text in them on longer posts
 
You really need a cheap full-time writer for BMR to be worthwhile.

It took me a long time to finally find people that could write the 3,000 posts per month I needed. I pay them US$0.25 per post.

Hit up odesk and elance and after screening a few dozen people you will find someone dependable.

huh and I thought I had a good deal for .50 per post.

That is disqusting, It would of been good if they allowed well decent spun articles instead of having to hire someone else to write content resulting to more money been paid every month.

I have someone who write $.40 per post for me, and this really add up if your chucking out about 200 post a month.

.40 cents per post?? Are you kidding? How shitty are the post? I too could care less about the quality just as long as it is unique but I couldn't find anyone to do it less then a dollar a post. And that was pushing it.
 
BMR is decent for getting low competition keywords ranked quickly as others have stated, however I've been finding that in the past few days it's been taking longer for my posts to actually get published. I'll write something and it can take a day to two days for it to get published to one of their blogs.
 
I think BMR must publish thousands of posts per day. I have published about 5600 posts now over the last year and this amount allows you to collect some interesting data. I find that it is really good on medium strength keywords and 99% of the time if the page is not on page 1 it will improve the rank.

Start Page 2+ : Rank increase average 19 spots

Start Page 1: Rank increase 1.5 spots

So it still works and I am using it now in November. Writing the content is more difficult than sending spun junk because it has to be unique and they check every post. If you use dragon naturally speaking you can write 1 article in 2 minutes. I can do about 25 an hour now but that is after a lot of practise and im a native speaker.

You can find people that write content from 0.50c to $2.00 depending on where you look. Reliability is the main problem of outsourcing these posts because most freelancers are juggling multiple projects and rarely deliver on time.

they dont have to be works of art they just need to have correct grammar and make sense when you read it. This entire post i just wrote above would get approved as a bmr post :)

This is good to know. I'm targeting medium competition keywords at the moment, and I was considering using BMR because I've been hearing good things about the service.

What's a good, albeit similar service that's better suited for more competitive keywords?
 
I think it also depends on all your other SEO strategies. I have not used BMR, but there are def some good high pr network services here in the BST section
