Horrible, I speak from personal experience and assure you their staff is lacking to say the least...

Go daddy will steal your domain name after you search for it if you do not buy it right then. When you go to get it the next day, they will have bought it and have it for sale for $200.
This happened to me once, I do not do business with Godaddy.
Fuck me over once, shame on you:

For me it is bluehost, namecheap, and hostgator.
IMO, bluehost has the best support. I can call them up in the middle of the night and get all the help I need, even if I simply do not understand something.
The few times I have had a problem (22 domains over 5 years), their support has been stellar.

They are said to be the flip side of Hostgator in terms of the relation between their hosting to their affiliate program. 1&1 has a good affiliate reputation, and horrid service rep, while HG has a solid rep for its service, but is iffy as an affiliate.

A BIG NO NO NO NO NO! 1&1, 1and1 hosting/domain, is like paypal for payments..looks like a dream but it's a nightmare in the end.
Hosting is fast, domains prices are cheap, but when you get trouble..or want to move away.. you create your nightmare.
Conclusion: 1and1 is only in business to get your money. Stay far away from them, and tell everybody 1&1 is a big no, you can test it yourself if you don't believe me.

I have my DSl line from their german company 1und1.
It is broken since three weeks and nobody cares about them. I'm on the way to cancel the contract because their serivce is ther crappiest i've ever seem.

I see a bunch of mixed review and don't know how to feel! I just signed a domain with them, should of done some better research! Let's see how the experience go for me.
