How inaccurate do you find GSC?

I find a large majority of my links never appear in GSC, even though they are indexed and there is ranking movement.

Like I would say 80% or more in my experience. Do you guys all have similar experiences?

If you don't have a sitemap that might be the reason, but GSC is pretty bad and buggy in general so I'd avoid trusting it with any kind of information...

I guess depends on your POV:

I think we all know Google does not show you all links on purpose, never seen all links there, of course, we know Google has them but how they choose what to show and whatnot, I assume nobody knows (or does not share it).

here is the scary part: a backlink shows up in google search console, but when check to see if it is indexed, you get a negative result!!!

i have seen this few times on my side over the last few years
