How in the hell you setup 301 on Shopify?

all I see are guides how to setup 301 for WordPress via .htaccess but nowhere is how to do this for Shopify..

I got a good domain and I want to create a 301 to my existing store to get some link juice but I am stuck.

Any advice?

The Shopify pajama support is clueless.

Why would you do it in Shopify? You just point the domain you want to your store, you don't need to mess around with the .htaccess of the store itself.

So straight from the domain host panel (Godaddy, namecheap) I'll just point the domain to my existing store domain and that's that?

I'm not knowledgeable about using expired domains, so whether you should rebuild the domain, articles, let it sit for a bit, or whatever, you'll have to ask someone else or find the info on BHW.

However, you redirect from the expired domain, so you shouldn't have any issues doing that directly from the .htaccess file of the expired domain. So, to confirm, your store is left as is.
 
If you want to redirect expired domain to your shopify store 301 redirect it in .htaccess file will do the trick.

I purchased an domain from godaddy auctions and I want to create a redirect from that domain to my existing domain.

My existing domain is on Namecheap and site is on Shopify so I need to know how to do the proper 301 so that the link juice will be passed on.

The previous guys give answers as they are clueless as myself.

If Godaddy supports 301, you can setup in you godaddy account.

Shopify does not come into picture here.

I really don't see the problem. Just google "htaccess 301 redirect", there's thousands of solutions, you just gotta paste in your URL.
Or do you struggle finding the htaccess file or something?

htaccess is done via cpanel which does not even exist for Shopify.

Alright I see, but why don't you just cancel your Shopify subscription and simply implement the redirect with your registrar? I just don't get what Shopify has to do with your domain - or do THEY own it / are you talking about a shopify subdomain?

No but this was the answer what I was looking for.

Can i implement the redirect with the registrar and does it have the same effect if done via htaccess?

This is what I was referring to initially that can I just use the domain and redirect it from godaddy just simply to my existing domain and thats it or not..

I don't see why you're calling people here clueless when you can't be bothered to try and understand what we're telling you (or use Google for that matter). Shopify has nothing to do with this if you're expired domain is on GoDaddy. It's just a simple 301 redirect.

You'll probably screw it up and not get anything from the domain, but there's no use explaining this to you.

This. Shopify literally has nothing to do with the domain. Go onto your register and just 301 it in settings.
