Feels like if a tweet doesn’t get early traction, it just dies completely.
Is this true or just coincidence?

Definitely true, why sites like twitter tiktok etc which are more focused on “recent” content are harder to build real value out of. Still great but other sites where you’re really building long term value through links longer content etc are more valuable.

But i would definitely consider X valuable. The key is bookmarkable content, the algo favors that a lot these days for expanding your tweet into outside of your network.

its not always game over after the first hour, some posts pick up later through reposts, replies, or being discovered by the right audience

Definitely feels that way sometimes Like if a tweet doesn’t get momentum early, it can disappear fast. Though every now and then random posts still take off later, so hard to tell how much is algorithm vs luck.

Yes if a post doesn't get traction early, it generally dies. If it is reposted though it can get traction at a different time of the day.

early traction matters but it's the type that counts, not volume. a few real replies that start a conversation push a post out-of-network way more than 50 likes, likes barely move it now. dwell time + replies in the first hour are what the algo reads as worth showing wider. that's also why buying early engagement does nothing.
