How important is keyword density?

I wouldn't worry too much about keyword density Tools like Rank Math are helpful guides but forcing a keyword into the text can hurt readability I'd prioritize writing naturally and satisfying search intent rather than chasing a specific keyword count.

I had same problem with RankMath before. Honestly I treat it more like guideline now, because forcing focus keyword too much made my articles sound weird and boring.
 
Chasing keyword numbers is like running on a treadmill and hoping you’ll get somewhere new. I’ve had way better results just focusing on how people are searching right now and sprinkling in keywords where they fit like puzzle pieces. If an SEO tool nags you about low density, sometimes you just have to shrug it off and trust your gut. In 2026, it’s all about being useful and readable.

I would not force keywords just to satisfy the score. Write naturally and ensure the main keyword fits where it makes sense. User experiennce is more important than chasing a perfect RankMath score.
 
Overusing the same keyword can actually hurt readability. It’s better to use natural variations and related terms instead of repeating one phrase.

I think you are doing the right thing by not forcing the same keyword too many times. If the content reads naturally and cover the topic well, that usually better for both readers and search engines. I still focus on building quality backlinks but i give equal importance to creating useful content and a good user experience.

its eseential element of on page seo, its necessary but you have to use main keyword where its needed, please do not use stuffing in your articles..
 
Keyword density is no longer a primary ranking factor for search engines like Google. While it remains a useful metric to check that your topic focus is clear, modern algorithms prioritize natural, readable content and user intent over specific keyword percentages.
