How Important is it to be 18 on a CPA network?

Hi, I'm a couple months away from being 18 and I was planning on applying to some CPA networks. A lot of them tend to make you check that you're 18 however so I was wondering if they would actually withhold your payments if you weren't 18 or if they could even find out when sending a check?

That's pretty much useless, I'm 16 and I got checks and PayPal payments from CPA networks.
