How important is it a nice eye-catching thumbnail?

Very important.
I normally get attracted by thumbnail first, then only the title. Most of the time they have some messages on the thumbnail that strike my attention.

Read the title or a eye catching thumbnail.
A group will say thumbnail and another would say, the title.
Thus, both are super important, neglecting one will be neglecting a portion of your potential userbase.

It makes people open your video and therefore is one of the most important factors to rank your video.

It's not a coincidence that even bigger channels sometimes change the thumbnail after a video was uploaded. It's because they aren't satisfied with the CTR and they know, with a different thumbnail, the video can perform better. But it's often not that easy to tell, that this or that thumbnail will be better, apart from the obvious nice ass or pair of tits. 
Now if your video contains none of these, that's when you can go wrong, when selecting a thumbnail.

Can you please recommend me a good software to build good thumbnails in a easy and simple way?
Not software like PHOTOSHOP, even something online very easy to use and with specifie emoji/icons to be added on the image.
