I have a multiple hosting account on GoDaddy that has about a dozen domains on it that I am testing a few thing out on....

Anyways - my question is - does it really matter on the 'type' of hosting? Each domain has a unique IP right? So it doesnt matter where and how it is hosted? Is that correct?

Thanks

Nope, the way you did is right so no worries

Hosting a domain on a unique IP is great, as you mentioned it is important for each domain to have a unique IP. In addition, it matters on the type of hosting regarding the nature of your work and the uptime. if your hosting space is very limited you will fail to host much. On the other hand if the company you hosted for has got issues with the uptime then eventually your website rankings will as well be affected. I recommend Bluehost, Host1plus or Servinio for a good uptime. Am sure others have got good ideas of hosting companies too. For you to prosper well, make sure your hosted content is unique and of value to the end user, remember having a back up as well. Goodluck

Important enough that a lot of people who can afford better hosting will put their hands into their pockets.

If Google comes along and sees you're sharing hosting with an adult website, a poker website, a gore website and other generally poor blogs it's not a great signal.

But of course you can rank websites in spite of it, that's a given. But if you're neck and neck with some competitor it's a 1 percenters and something I'd rather have.

Outside of that godaddy is bad anyway so don't use them for that reason. Really bad. The baddest of a bad bunch.

Thanks for all replies....

I guess the answer is this = if you are serious about the site/ domain (branding etc) then the more dedicated the hosting with Unique IP the better....

It's not the domain that has the ip. Its the hosting.
Just be sure if you load up all your domains that each one has a different IP.
That might not be the case if they are all with godaddy. find some alternative cheap hosting

I think hosting is not important to SEO, just domain is important to SEO

So it doesnt matter where and how it is hosted? Is that correct?
Wrong

All domains in same hosting company - footprint.
All domains in same domain registrar - footprint.

If you can afford it - use different domain registrars and hosting providers. Its not only about "every domain on different IP" its about number of reffering CIDRs and ASNs.

well, if you have crappy hosting company such as godaddy then your website could be down more often so goolge and real people won't visit your site. I assume google wouldn't rank a site with poor and slow hosting, why would google rank a website if they can't access it?

PS: it's my personal opinion about godaddy and I found their hosting really poor and slow at times.

well if u mean hosting location, and domain name
i have domain name with .com and hosted in VPS in germany and ranked #1 in 28 keywords in russia
it do not metter i will look in page speed for the hosting company

In my opinion, not very important.

As long as you have a decent host (like Hostgator) that loads quickly, you'll be fine.
Aim to keep your loading times quick, install caching plugins, and optimize images.

Load times are a very small percentage of Google's algorithm changes. Studies by Moz found no correlation between load times and rankings. That should tell you a lot.

Focus on quality content instead.

One of the SEO key factor for ranking website today, is the website loading speed. A good hosting, maybe in the same country of your target audience, can improve a lot the website's speed. Also, it was demonstrated that a quick downloading time improves also conversion. What are you waiting for? :)

Well I have detailed about hosting effect on SEO already on Cloudways Blog. If your Hosting effected with

Server Downtime
Shared Hosting
Server Location
Page Load time

then you will effect with SEO.

Sorry for OT: Gonna go get the papers, get the papers. :D

Of course, there are two major factors which will influence your website rankings regarding the hosting part. Check them below.

1. Uptime/Downtime :- Obviously, site uptime is important. Website owners should be careful in picking the right hosting companies for their sites.

2. Loading Speed : Your website has to open faster otherwise chances are the sites will be closed by the visitor. So the traffic may considerable increase if it open on time.

Apparently all the hosting companies assure 99% uptime now, but just check the reviews before buying anything.

Type of hosting is not important, speed of website (CMS) is important factor to consider. There are some example of quite big authority websites on cheap hosting.

Hello,

Numerous individuals said that distinctive (dedicated IP's) is useful for SEO. Since google don't show same site with same IP's in 1 single Search Result.

It's methods if your objective essential word had a contender that host in same IP's, one and only of them will demonstrated in SERP....

Along these lines, its ideal to burned through $1 per area per month to Dedicated IP.

GOOD LUCK!!
