How important is account "reputation" when bulding links from wikipedia?

Hello, this is questions for the guys here who are experienced in wikipedia link bulding. I have 11 years old wikipedia account that I have never really used, only created and edited few wiki pages many years ago and now I have done some edits past few days to make the account look more legit. I would like to use the account for link bulding to my own site, but I'm not sure how important is "reputation" of my wikipedia account. Should I spent lot of time editing and creating pages, creating quality stuff to make my account look more legit, or if I just link to quality article on my own site and the link makes sense and is related to wkipedia page, it would stay there no matter "reputation" of my wikipedia account?

It sounds to me like you might already know the answer... padding your account with random edits, adding quality content to other random pages (missing stats, updating outdated references, adding new sections, expanding small sections, etc.) before you add a link to your own site might help you not get caught.

Believe me, Wiki link building is a pain in the ass. If you use more than 1 account, login from a different IP address. And make sure your link on your website provides context for the Wiki page. It needs to be a valuable resource or the edits will get reverted and your account could be compromised.
