Out of curiosity, how high would you rank the importance of having a sales copy on your main page?
If you sell some crap that "will change your life" I would rank it high...
Would you consider a sales copy vital to conversions?
Yes, of course sales copy is important however any message delivered to the right audience will get a result. Google Gary Halbert Starving Crowd and read that article in his newsletter.
Sales copy is almost the most important thing. I would rather have a killer sales page and average product than a killer product with average sales page.
The sales copy is very important the product could be great but without the right message...
So basically what I'm asking, do you guys find it necessary to have the sales page?
Edit: This is includes quality of website content.
Sales page or no sales page, whichever is the page that has the 'buy now' button on it must be convincing. Your copy is effectively the fundamental 'pitch' you give to your prospects.
It's essential! You have to ring some bells in your client's brain. He/she has to think: Yeah, that's why I need that product/service! or Just what I needed!
You have to say to your targeted customers WHY they should buy it, and WHY they should buy it from you.
Blah. Sorry, I keep typing sales page but I meant the copy lol.
Anyway, so regardless of how well your content is, it's essential to have a sales copy in order to convince the customers to buy the product? Also, does it necessarily need to have a "Buy Now" button at the bottom or will various ads through the sales copy work? If possible, does anyone know of a sample sales copy template (such as where the "Buy Now" button should go and how it should be formatted)?
Good copy costs thousands of dollars and are by very skilled people some of the best charge 100 grand for one. If you think your gonna make one with some template good luck.
I didn't mean template as to the content of the sales copy, I meant a template as to how the sales copy should be laid out onto the site in general. I just want to know how a sales copy is generally formatted on a site and what it should look like.
To go Don Draper on you, it's the sizzle in the steak.
