Hi BHW,

How important is it to get backlinks from specific country domains?

I live in Denmark, and would like to rank higher for specific keywords.

Will it do me any good if a get a direct backlink from a .com domain vs .dk ?

And how does google see this.

If you have country specific domain then a country specific backlink will be most useful. It will definitely push your site's worth.

Ok thanks, it also makes most sense.
I will look for danish links.

Counts a lot, you want to show G relevancy. Having country and niche related sites backlinks would be your best bet.

I would prefer quality over quantity, and focus mostly on local sites.

It makes sense to push for country-specific backlinks for projects with local or country-specific intent. I'd keep the link profile to 65% .dk links and 35% .com links.

I dont think country is not having big role in serp. Might be as other said , for local keywords otherwise no.

Yes, it might be a first preference helpful for targeting local users, local keywords. But .com links also helpful to push your keywords as long as they are quality authority sites.

Not atmost important in terms of backlinks, but for traffic, T1.

I would go for at least 50% Danish links [PBN wise] if possible (but .com won't hurt IMO) - You would probably be better off building your own PBN since it's country specific.

To get local traffic you have to use local website backlinks.
