Hello, hope you are doing nicely in terms of online biz?

Recently, i've be receiving msg's via pm in regards to how to getting started on ebay in 2026.

Are you just starting or you've already get started?

Well, i think now is the most appropriate time to unfold some secret (not all) of how i started on ebay in 2000/2001.

the aim of this thread is for you to remind me through bhw comment quote.

Sadly, i started as a buyer not as a seller. Sorry for those hurting for dedicated ip's, proxies...

And it took me 3-4 years before i decided to list one item on sale

I never had the intention to sell online what triggers my attention was those 0.01cent item's on sale on ebay.

Back then, i taught i can buy products with 0.02 cent on ebay. I never knew that those item's where listed in an auction format and i have to participate in bidding which probably ends within 3 o 7 days

So, i donot know the difference btw auction and bin (buy it now). I was a just a nepiyos.

So those of you who already know the difference btw auction and bin was better than me back in 2001.

Also, i knew nothing about paypal. For me, they are a kind of non-existing entity. Ofcourse, i had my postpay credit c

Also, i knew nothing about scam or online scammers.

It never occur to me that the online marketplace could be very risky. For me it's just so exciting.

Ofcourse, i was skeptical but, carried away by my desire to explore the internet world...... Continuation

old ebay was a different animal, feedback actually meant something and you could kinda learn by just buying small stuff first. Starting as buyer wasnt sad imo, it probably saved you from making dumb seller mistakes too early. In 2026 people rush straight into stealth, proxies, limits etc but still don't understand basic buyer psychology, titles, photos, shipping time... then wonder why account dies or no sales. Curious to read the continuation, especially how you moved from bidding on cheap items to listing your first one.

man the 0.01 cent thing got me, i did the exact same when i first landed on ebay. saw those prices and thought i hit a goldmine, then realised it was an auction and got outbid in the last 5 seconds by some sniper bot lol.

funny how you mention not knowing paypal existed. back then a lot of us were paying with whatever card we could get our hands on and just hoping it went through. the trust was kinda blind but it worked because nobody was thinking about chargebacks the way they do now.

waiting on the continuation, mostly curious what made you finally list that first item after sitting as a buyer for 3-4 years. that gap is the interesting part... most people cant wait 3 weeks let alone 3 years before trying to sell.
