How I signed another $799 month contract in 48 hours.

Congrats! Mind if I ask what type of review portals or online reputation management systems you prefer? Thanks.

I've owned a small restaurant/bar for almost twelve years, I'm going to have to go with MudButt on this one...

Exactly. The guy is going to have to sell a lot of sandwiches to cover this bill. Some business owners have more money than sense....

He is happy with my pricing. I dont doubt that once he's showing up on maps and is all set up with the review portal that he won't see the need to pay 799 but that's down the road. Seo firms and local marketers charge my price like its nothing. Plus I'm doing doing the review portal etc.

I got the idea from 7878 method. Basically a landing page with a choice of leaving a bad or good review. If they leave a bad review it goes straight to email. If they want to leave a good review it goes to review sites.

I love the spin off of the idea but people are still missing a few key components on how to make this work. Ironically people need to be good sales people. Communication is a must, so you can practice public speaking, arbitration aka arguing over a common subject, and you will need to perfect your emotions and tones of voice used when speaking. Body language then comes into play, correctly used you can trigger subconscious emotions that will help you effectively communicate more with less words used. The final piece of the puzzle is that your product has to be of AAA quality along with your service. If your service is anything less or if your AAA customer support is anything less than what you say it is, or lead it to be they will bail. Your only goal is to keep repeat customers, offer people to become affiliates and resellers by helping YOU make sales with their testimonials and referrals and finally making sure that your money is well invested to keep bringing in the repeat customers.

Thanks for the reply. And to Onlythabst, I can't reply to your PM 'till I get 15 posts, but I am interested in discussing it further with you.

I'm not knocking you, fair play to you and well done on the sale. If you search for how many people want sandwiches, take out lunch or whatever in your city you'd probably see the numbers are low and the business owner will never profit from what he's paid you. He'll never get a good ROI. But that's his fault not yours.

well done bro,
personal contact is way better than phone call or email contacting.
keep going.

This is how I got a web design gig recently (and I don't design websites). I threw up a nice looking theme on wordpress and charged him $700. He was thrilled, and I thought I got really lucky. Congrats man, I love stories like this

Congrads on closing the sale. To everyone saying he is ripping the guy off, you don't know what market he is in...ranking someone for "restaurants los angeles" (for example) for $799 is a bargain.

I kid you NOT this is actually something I heard was sold once as a WSO when I thought just like you it would be a common sense opportunity. Well done MrSimon good luck with the project restaurants have good suppliers of different things from accountants to lawyers to food supplies so do a good job for them and they can sure as anything refer you to their network of professional contacts.

you can further upsell them to mobile web, mobile app, if they dont have one yet. And these are recurring fees too.

Congrats! Sell him SEO, website/flyer/banners design and other services too.
AND now you're enjoying discounted meals on his cafe/shop too, no?

The OP called it a 'sandwich shop' and 'a bit fancier than a mom and pop shop'. That's not quite the same as "restaurants los angeles" LOL.

And you need to read the OP first post again. The business owner apparently paid $1500 upfront + signed up for a 6 month contract which will cost him an additional $2400. That makes it almost $4k in fees for a fancy mom & pop sandwich shop. I can guarantee you the search volumes for this business will be tiny and there won't be any ROI for the owner. The owner is a fool and as they say, a fool and his money is soon parted.

I like the story as well but your SEO efforts have to bring him a lot of extra sandwich sales for him to just break even on that 799$. But I guess that's totally irrelevant as long as he pays and is happy.
