    Here is my 2 cent

    For one of my domain created one and a half months back, I was ranking good for specific searches. Say if I have reviewed any product, if you search for that product, I rank in the first page. Fair enough, but that does not bring massive traffic because I never did review based on product popularity, instead I just review what I find on my way and that too with no affiliate link and optimized only for adsense (getting 25% CTR :) ).

    Lets be more specific, my domain relates to 'Make money online' and 'Work from home' and say I reviewed for website like 'sponsoredreviews', 'payperpost', 'mylot' etc. So if anyone search for these keyword, I always come in first page. I was quite satisfied because its a month old blog. But the click what I was getting is 100/day which was too dull for me. And for the main keyword like 'Make Money online' 'Work from home', 'Home based business'. 'make money guide, I was not ranking in the Top 100 (You know how competitive this keyword is)... And I did something which made my page to come in Top 50 in the first attempt and Top 10 in second attempt. Traffic surged from 100 /day to 3400/day on an average

    I dont know if I can call it blackhat, but definitely not a white. Give a try for instant result....

    what I did:

    (1) I modified .htaccess file. At the bottom, I added

    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /

    RewriteRule ^(.+)$ / [R=302,L]

    What it does is, it forward all the internal pages to homepage.. You type anything www.yourdomain.com/****/****.html and it will come to www.yourdomain.com

    (2) Added one plain HTML page in root directory named 'index.html'

    (3) Edited that index.html like this

    a) Title - Your 2 anchor keyword
    b) In the body, 2 lines of text filled with your main keyword in <h1> tag
    c) Search your keyword in google and pick any 3 result from top 10 result and copy the first para of each article
    d) make this copied article in Bold
    e) Add <h2> tag with your first Keyword
    f) go to keyword tool in adword and type your main keyword and see all the relevant keyword coming into result. Note any 10 result (two short keyword, two 3/4 word keyword, six long tail keywords) and add these keywords under <h2> tag defined above and keep it in <h3> tag
    g) Now repeat the steps (e) and (f) for your second Keyword (anchor text)

    (4) Ping your blog through pingler and pingthatblog
    (5) Leave it for a day
    (6) after 24 hours, remove that added line in .htaccess file and rename or delete index.html file added into the root directory

    Nice info buddy keep your eye on the site and let us know how quickly it drops down again, as it probably will.

    Redirecting all the pages. That sounds interesting but the only enemy is Big G, "The Guy" will follow the game in the first place and will definitely fire back when he founds out. Google hates redirects for sure.

    I know this can not be permanent.. Big G is not fool. I tried to save my ass by modifying the .htaccess and getting everything back to normal withing 24 hours.

    But the benefit what i see is:::: If you do it once, atleast G will understand that your website is meant for what all keywords.. They dont list you becoz they dont understand it.... So just a forced action to let them understand ;)

    Ok, a few questions here,

    1) After You delete the Index page You create another one not "stuffed" with keywords? A normal white hat page?
    2) How many times did You put that .htaccess/html live? Just once? once a week?

    This remember me an old trick used a few years ago but no longer effective, at least in long run.

    1. After removing the stuffed page, it just came back to normal site... Then I repeated this process after 3 days again
    2. 2 times in 3 days.. Once for 24 hours and second time for 6 hours

    Did you put any links in that index.html or just plain text ?? I wonder if I put affiliate links will that work or just leave it plain text cause I have some traffic and I make some sales so I don't want to miss sales :).

    OK! This looks interesting and really get on me. :cool:

    I couldn't contain my curiosity so I went ahead and tested it on one of my dormant and forgotten site.

    Site Age: 7 Month Old Blog

    2 Keywords Identified:
    Main Keyword => Search Vol (148,000) : Current Rank (Page 3 at 25)
    Secondary Keyword => Search Vol (45,000) : Current Rank (Page 6 at 54)

    Did the steps as shown. Redirected to root, uploaded the index file and pinged the blog.

    Will see if there is any movement in rankings

    To be continued after 24 hours....stay tune for my results....

    :D

    I can't get this to work. When I put this:

    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /

    RewriteRule ^(.+)$ / [R=302,L]

    in .htaccess my website doesn't open. It keeps loading forever. Is there something specific that I must do ??

    Though I did not put any affiliate link (not even link).. but I had 2 adsense block (728X90) top and bottom of the page.. (didn't want to miss few $$$)

    So you can try with affiliate link and update

    Thanks for answer but what about my second question. I can't make it work. I upload index.html edit .htaccess and my website doesn't open. :( I even tried deleting everything else from .htaccess and it still doesn't work. My website keeps loading forever. It says "waiting for reply" in the left down corner of my browser. What could be the reason ??

    just rename the newly created index.html file and remove the added line from .htaccess.. it will come back to normal.

    then repeat the process

    But my suggestion will be not to do it for well running blog... because I have done it only once and I dont want your blog to get sandboxed, if Big G understand this (who knows badluck)...

    mine was just a month blog and not many visitor, so was worth to take a risk.. If the same applies to you, please go ahead and let me know how it worked..

    You didn't understand. I can't make it work. My site is working fine without touching .htaccess. If I upload index.html it opens fine. But when I edit .htaccess it fails. I know how to restore my website to previous state but I want to make this work. The problem is in .htaccess but I don't know what is it.

    OK I did it :) . I changed this:

    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
    </IfModule>

    Into this:

    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule ^(.+)$ / [R=302,L]
    </IfModule>

    Adding

    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /

    RewriteRule ^(.+)$ / [R=302,L]

    At the bottom crashed my website but now it works fine. I will leave it for 24 hours to see what happens.

    great share. It sounds like a perfect method to use with a bunch of simple mini sites. If this works a good percentage of the time and you have lots of sites, you could just rotate this method through them to keep something ranking well all the time. It would also be good for quick hits like product launches.
