How I Neutralized the Panda Slap!

Hello,
I had a site which receives 26k monthly searches (according to Google Keyword tool [exact]).
It was the usual wordpress site, with 15 pages of content.
I made some shitty links with a custom coded bot and AMR.
My custom coded bot spammed my links on shitty photo gallery. These photo-galleries were always full of Viagra spam links.

Using AMR, I posted the shittiest and most dupe article I could find for my site.

My site was around 15th position before this, after this went down to 500+.

Waited for two weeks, no improvement in the site.....

What I did to neutralize it:

Bought newdomain.com
301 redirect all pages from domain.com to newdomain.com
As the site had only 15 pages of content, I decided to rewrite it a little. I made each article 20% unique compared to previous version.
Created pages/videos on FB, Youtube, Twitter.
Manually bookmarked with high quality description on top bookmarking sites.
I did not do any other form of linkbuilding apart from what has been mentioned.

What we can deduce from this experience?
Google only passes on link juice when you 301 redirect your domains. It does not pass the penalties.
Besides if it did pass penalties, I would have redirected my domain to my competitors domain. lol

newdomain.com now ranks at 7th position for the same keyword.

Make sure you redirect the inner pages as well.

Wow this is so obvious I bet most people don't even think about it. Great thinking out of the box!
The only problem I see is with your statement: 'Besides if it did pass penalties, I would have redirected my domain to my competitors domain. lol'

Don't get me wrong dude, I think your method is great and I hope it lasts, but that's exactly what everyone keeps saying about creating thousands of spammy backlinks to your money site. Their reasoning is if G banned you for spammy backlinks you could do it to your competitor.
It definitely makes sense, but then why are all these threads popping up on BHW talking about how their sites are getting penalised for 'unnatural links' and those G webmaster tools warnings. Hell, why did YOUR site get a penalty...

Anyway, I hope I'm wrong and your method lasts.

I did something similar a while ago.. It worked for about a month, but then I got dropped out of the top 100.

Note: All of my competition also dropped out of the top 100 too and some even got de-indexed. So perhaps this was a manual penalty - I was doing something pretty sneaky haha.

Let's hope you didn't raise any flags in redirecting your domain in case you have received a manual review.

That said, you have been quite smart to switch domain.

If you don't mind i'm curious about your results on the long run, could you update us if within a few days / weeks your rankings remains stable ?
