What is with people bashing other people for contributing to this forum? It's not like meathead put up some asinine guide for how to collect lint and sell it on Fiverr. Your mindset and the way you go about doing things is just as important as the method or system you use to make money.
Every single successful entrepreneur got it in their head that they weren't going to quit or let dickheads drag them down. They kept going, and stayed positive. That is why meathead, t0mmy, LB and other members on this forum run 6 and 7 figure businesses.
How successful are you?
Did you get on this forum to learn, or to bitch?
My suggestion is that you all shut your noise holes and get back to work.
To be fair only 1 (edit: now 2) person semi-bitched. And it wasn't even a real attempt at bitching since he said nothing specific.
But now that you've effectively rebutted all negative comments before they can be made.... let me say a few things:
1) This
thread. There are much better examples of the idiosyncrasies of BHW culture. But when a normal member asks or says how much they make it's generally frowned upon. I personally support people saying what they make. But that directly goes against Jazz's philosophy that many agreed with. I'm just pointing out the
irony of obedience. That if meathead had a yellow or blue name and made a title like this .... the chance of this thread being derailed by post 3-4 would have been massive. I'm also pointing out the irony of people who agreed with or thanked Jazz's post .... then I see some of those same exact names thanking meatheads post.... yet both posts are in direct contradiction of each other.
2) I've seen a lot of threads where people get mad just cause someone makes you click back to their blog to read an article.
3) The topic of clickbait itself. I have no problem with clickbait when the content tries to back up the promise in the headline. But that didn't happen here. The promise of the headline was "How I made over a million dollars". And then the article changes focus and goes on to cover really basic topics like 1) don't give up keep trying 2) ignore haters, surround yourself in positivity 3) don't take loans try to raise capital yourself 4) focus on your business with blind motivation 5) don't give into naysayers and never give up.
For the sake of simplicity #1 and #2 aren't that important or relevant. But they do show how crazy powerful social proof is. If 10 key members vouch for 1 person the next 10,000 blindly follow and drop their guard all following the opinions of just a handful of people. This aspect of marketing and human behavior has and will always fascinate me. Cause everytime I see it signs of it I always think of Stanley Milgrams obedience shock test. Which was inspired by the Holocaust.
I hope Meathead doesn't take this the wrong way. I'm just saying when you command a certain level of authority & obedience... you're more likely to get dishonest feedback. Or to just not get any real feedback at all cause that many people would prefer to kiss your ass.
Because of this I feel more urgency to be honest about my opinion.
I REALLY WAS hoping to read a personal story with specific examples of how you made $1,000,000. Because the thread title says "I". It focuses on
you. Then the blog says "how to make". Which redirects the focus
outwards, gives you leverage to play it safe, be more abstract and not really talk about personal things you did (in any real depth I should say). $1M might not seem like a lot of money to you. But the impression I got after reading that article was "this guy really doesn't GAF he made a million dollars. he's writing this as a vanity post to attract business cause where is the excitement, enthusiasm... the passion?" I didn't feel it. It seemed you wanted to keep the tone cordial, formal, safe... to such an extent I was left completely uninspired.
Either way, congrats on making that much money.
