This is not really a journey, just a little summary of how I made 198$ as a soucre of inspiration. What I did is nothing new and very simple, I looked for available domain names for bigger cities in my area with the word "auto" in it (ex: citynameauto.com or autocityname.com). Auto makes even more sense for me because it means car in french. Anyways, I found that citynameauto.com was available for a relatively big city so I went ahead and did some research BEFORE buying it. I found the biggest dealerships of the city and did a whois lookup on them aswell as on the autocityname.com domain. Luckily, the owner of said domain owned about 4 dealerships in the same city and had about 25 registered domains, so I thought I could definitely sell it to him. So I went ahead and bought the domain with a coupon for 2$, sent him an email aswell as to other dealerships of the area but just as expected, he's the only one that answered and said he might be interested depending on the price. I played it safe and asked for 200$ which he accepted right away.
Finding buyers for that kind of domain can be really hard, I was definitely lucky for this one. Also, you can't do this overnight because they require you to register a domain for at least 60 days before transfers are possible, so I bought it and waited, but doing 15 minute of google research and sending a bunch of emails is well worth it for 198$!
