This has got to be the oldest BH method ever, my grandma was doing this back in the early 80's. But scaling it up she was selling a whole cake and cupcakes by the dozen. Right outside the church, SOLD OUT in an HOUR! She didnt donate a damn thing! LMAOF! If you gone do it , do it like grandama!
We used to do that at raves back in the 90's. I'd set up a table with brownies, and have some for $1, and some for $10. When people asked why we charged $10, I'd wink at 'em and say "because it has walnuts on it, dude." Worked like a charm, and the cops all thought we were hilarious. At a big show (20k people), we'd make 2k - 3k in a night easy.
Definitely not blackhat, though, just young, stupid, and slightly shady.

I wouldn't call it fraud or deception. OP DID raise money for hungry children. He's gotta pay his costs, including his wage... just like any other business, non-profit or not.

Unless OP told the people "Buy a brownie and I will donate money" it isn't fraud. If he said "Buy a brownie and feed a hungry child".. they better buy a brownie and then find a kid to give the brownie to!

Damn this remind me of what me and my friends do. We throw big red light affair parties twice a year or so. Free Liquor with small keg beer. Heres the catch
We charge $5 for free liquor beer and some food if you come early. We usually have like more then a few hundred show up in and out at our house through the night..
Uhm we use left over grey goose Vodka bottle sand other high end liquor and fill it up with 5 o clock cheap $5 a gallon liquor.. We do 75% five o clock to 25% real grey goose liquor.. heck sometimes we fill whole bottle up with 5 o clock liquor after everybody was already drunk, house pack and music playing cause nobody is not going to pay attention to taste of drink...
